Students visit Mercy Care

Tranby College and Mercy Care have been working together since 2014, and we still are.

As part of our Service Learning and the College Cadet Program the students engage in a range of multi generational activities such as bingo, puzzles, board games, gardening, chatting and putting up the Christmas decorations.

More importantly, it is a unique opportunity for both parties to learn from each other and share stories. These stories help our students to gain an understanding and appreciation of life in days' of old, while our students offer their modern perspectives on life.

Currently in 2020, with students being unable to visit the residents, we have 27 students from Years 9-12 who have a Pen Pal at Mercy Care. We are hoping towards the end of the year that the students and residents will be able to have a morning tea and actually meet and chat face-to-face.
